From the announcement:
“Join us at Subbasement Artist Studios for an artists’ talk with Lauren Boilini and Bobby English to discuss their work in Mothership Connection and the ideas of creation and destruction that serve not only as their inspiration, but as their process itself. There is a distinct duality of creative and destructive forces in contemporary art-making – artists have always been creators, making connections to other worlds or creating entirely new ones. Now, however, artists are also destroyers of worlds and ideas, often (and sometimes only) serving as a critical voice of contemporary culture.”
7-8 p.m. Reception with performance pieces by Bobby English
8-9 p.m. Artists’ Talk with Lauren Boilini and Bobby English, moderated by curator Jennifer Tam
*Admission without RSVP is $5 at the door.
