This year, we celebrated the closing of the 2011 Baker Artist Awards Exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art with a Late Night event at the museum. If you were one of the 1,388 guests to attend, then you probably already know that it was a huge success!
The free event featured live performances by MSB winners Audrey Chen and Shodekeh Talifero, and several 2011 b-Grant winners including Copycat Theatre, Mara Neimanis, Fernando Quijano III, Nelly’s Echo, Justin Sirois, ellen cherry, Lily Susskind, and Michelle Antoinette Nelson. While Audrey and Shodekeh had video’s showcasing their work throughout the course of the exhibit, the performances gave them and the other award winning non visual artists the opportunity to feature their work in a more appropriate context.
In case you missed it, here are video’s of the night’s performances by Mara Neimanis, Fernando Quijano III, Justin Sirois, Nelly’s Echo, ellen cherry, and Shodekeh:

Throughout the course of the evening, we covered the event live and posted photos to the Baker Artist Awards Twitter feed. If you didn’t have the opportunity to follow us online, you can check out the photos we posted in the album on our Facebook page.
In the meantime, here are more photos of the event taken by photographer Christopher Meyers:

Special thanks to all of the award winning artists featured in the exhibit and who performed at the Late Night! This was a wonderful celebration of all of your hard work and dedication, and we couldn’t be happier to see it all come together so successfully.
Also special thanks to The Baltimore Museum of Art and all the folks who made the Late Night and the entire exhibit possible! It was a phenomenal exhibit and the event captured the spirit of the Baker Artist Awards perfectly.
And of course, special thanks to everyone who came to see the 2011 Baker Artist Award exhibit and help us kick off the 2012 Award Season! We were thrilled to see such a huge audience and so many members of the community supporting our artists.
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR AN AMAZING NIGHT AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT!!!!
