Overview
This project consists in 2 formats: Tour and Herbarium documentation in Gallery
Tour, Grass, Air, Grass Specimens, Paper, Ink
15 Containers (8'x8'x6') placed in 15 sites around Chicago
Herbarium collection of 20 studies. Dimensions variable.
This project is an experiment to visualize air. I've created a tour around the city, suburbs and rural areas of Chicago, comparing the rates of CO2, the growth of grass, and the history of the cityâ??s development.
Grass uses CO2 to grow. CO2 is at a greater concentration in the city than in surrounding rural sites. The grass becomes an instrument to measure the invisible CO2 in the air. Sites explore our (everyday) relationship to environment, change, and air.
