Bio
JENNIFER TAM graduated with a BFA in May 2012 from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD. She makes graphic, representational paintings that fuse Eastern and Western art historical traditions in semi-autobiographical scenes. This work has helped her explore her Chinese heritage and come to terms with what being an Asian-American means at a time when tensions between China and the United States are rising every day. She is also an independent curator, having curated exhibitions at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport, Subbasement Artist Studios, and MICA. Her artwork itself has been featured in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and in her home state of Indiana.
