In 2003 I received my BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University, during which time I studied sculpture and Italian in Florence. After returning from Italy, I began working for a stone carving and restorantion company outside of Washington, DC. I became a fulltime apprentice there directly following completion of my undergraduate degree. I left the company in the fall of 2006 to attend the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art. I continued to work on private commissions, and as a freelance carver, designer and illustrator while in school. After receiving my MFA in 2008, and following a residency at the Vermont Studio Center, I started my own company(of one), Atlantic Custom Carving, LLC. I have since formed a partnership with Hilgartner Natural Stone, Inc., where my sculpture studio is located and for whom I am the resident stone carver. I live and work in Baltimore, Maryland and my sculptural work is represented by the Irvine Contemporary in Washington, DC, where I currently have a show up: Uncommissioned Memorials, Dec 19th - Jan 30th.
